Description

Bask in year-round evergreen foliage and outstanding vibrant springtime blooms with these three stunning Japanese Azaleas. The glossy green leaves provide a good foil for other plants such as colourful perennials – giving another layer of planting to your garden.

Each growing to roughly 100cm high and wide, Rhododendrons are perfect for containers, helping to keep them compact and easy to maintain.

  • 'Blaauw's Pink' - An evergreen Azalea with double, salmon-pink blooms. Although compact, the branches have an open nature, with attractive mid-green foliage for year-round interest. An RHS Award of Garden Merit holder, it is ideal for containers and the fronts of beds and borders, and will thrive in most garden positions. Flowers April to May. Approximate height 100cm and spread 100cm.
  • 'Geisha Red' - A stunning variety with large, long-lasting, vibrant blooms of bright pinky red in April to May and hints of reddish copper on the glossy green leaves in spring. Evergreen and compact, this is a perfect choice for containers or the fronts of borders. A magnet for bees and butterflies, this hardy plant is also easy to maintain. Approximate height and spread of 100cm x 100cm.
  • 'Geisha White' - A compact evergreen shrub producing magnificent clusters of funnel-like white flowers covering the whole bush in May and June. ‘Hisako’ also has charming, small, elliptic, dark green leaves which are bright green when young. A great option for early season as well as moist, acid conditions with a little protection from drying winds. Approximate height 75-100cm x 100cm.

See masses of colour in early spring with these Azaleas, which thrive in partial shade and moist, acidic soil, so incorporate plenty of ericaceous compost to the planting hole or container when planting.

Supplied as a collection of three established plants in 9cm pots, including one of each above named varieties.

Top Tips
  • Ideal for pots (remember to use ericaceous compost) but must be fed and watered well and repotted every couple of years.

Care Information
  • Azaleas can tolerate a more open site as long as they are sheltered from cold, drying winds and early morning sunlight. Mulch plants and water deeply and regularly during dryer periods from July onwards.
  • Your azaleas should be planted slightly higher than they were in their pots into well-draining soil.
  • Azaleas need an acidic soil with a pH of around 5.5 in order to thrive – soils with pH higher than 5.5 should be acidified before planting or you can grow these plants in a container with ericaceous compost.
  • When watering, try to use rainwater as tap water tends to be too hard and more alkaline.
  • Plants benefit from a yearly feed, and our Azalea, Rhododendron and Shrub feed is the ideal formulation.

Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
