Product Information

Chinese Witch Hazel... Spectacular Firework-Like Flowers, Striking All-Year-Round Foliage, and Easy To Grow!

A plant for all seasons and all gardens, 'Black Pearl' really is one of the most spectacular plants you can own. Quite a rarity in UK gardens, it is unlikely that your neighbours will have one, so you can be one of the first to grow it! Incredibly exotic looking, yet easy to grow, even for new gardeners, and this has been fashioned into a standard.

Glorious, rich burgundy, oval-shaped leaves contrast superbly against the green foliage of other nearby plants, acting as a dramatic backdrop to its spectacular, vibrant pink flowers. Often likened to sea coral, the highly unusual ribbon-shaped petals explode from the centre just like a firework and completely smother the plant from February to April, just when you need interest in your garden.

As spectacular in a pot on the patio as in any border, this Chinese Witch Hazel requires nothing more than an occasional trim to keep it in perfect shape.

Supplied as an established standard in a 7L pot, 70-80cm tall, 25-30cm foliage diameter, ready to plant out.
