Product Information

Beautiful flowering plants that perform even in cold winters are true treasures indeed - and this superb Viburnum is just the thing to perk up those dull days.

This 'Eve Price' standard produces masses of blush-pink buds that gather in clusters, opening to fragrant white flowers at the height of winter, followed by reddish purple berries. Plus, it's evergreen and totally hardy, although the leaves may suffer a little cosmetic cold damage in conditions below -10C.

This standard statement plant boasts a head of foliage bursting with buds and flowers above a clear stem, and is supplied already established and able to make instant impact in the garden. A fabulous talking point when planted alone, great as a pair, and particularly eye-catching when dotted along a pathway - or just about anywhere that the scent and colour can be appreciated in winter.

Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come. Plus, this variety is recommended as a 'Plant for Pollinators' by the RHS, thanks to its ability to draw the attention of bees, butterflies, and many other beneficial insect species.

Supplied as an established standard plant in a 15L pot, 40-50cm in diameter and 1.8m tall, ready to plant.

Top Tips

To keep your standard looking its best, remove any side shoots (laterals) from the trunk in winter. Any weak or competing shoots can also be removed from the top of the tree if needed.

Care Information

  • By keeping your half standard tree in its pot, you can limit its size and keep it manageable. Spring is the best time to repot potted standards.
  • Repot your standard tree every other year. Use the same pot if you want to keep it at its current size, or up to 5cm bigger is you would like to grow it on a bit more.
  • Remove the plant from its pot and trim off any rotten roots or roots that are winding around the outside of the root ball.
  • Cut away the bottom one-third of the root ball using a pruning saw and replant using fresh potting soil or compost.
