Description

A world first! At last, truly fragrant Begonias - a summer long display of exceptionally large blooms, each colour releasing a different scent! Yes, it's true! These really are the very first truly fragrant trailing Begonias! Flower power and an encapsulating soft scent wrapped into one sensational flower.

These stunning plants are admired for their delightful fragrance as well as their giant rose-like blooms. The aromatic scent fills the air with a delicious medley of perfumes ranging from fresh citrus lemon to indulgent soft rose. Each amazing flower head measures up to 5 inch across - so large they hang down in a beautiful waterfall cascade of soft pink, peach pastels and apricot shades, effortlessly. Plant them in hanging baskets, tubs, or planters, where they can tumble down over the side, thriving in hot and dry, or wet and windy conditions - one of the main reasons behind their success.

A small posy of them also makes a lovely indoor display, as does floating a few heads in a large bowl. Of course both will smell simply fantastic! Be one of the first to share in this remarkable breeding achievement, our customers have been snapping these up ever since they have been available, and it's easy to see why! Get all 'aromantic' with these fragrant Begonias.

Supplied as a set of 10 tubers, size 3/4.

Top Tips
  • You can remove the single female flowers to encourage more of the large double male flowers to be produced if you wish - although we like to leave them on for a fuller display.
  • Deadhead faded blooms to extend the flowering period.

Care Information
  • Begonia tubers will start into growth from February onwards. The easiest way is to put them into shallow tray with a good quality compost which has been moistened.
  • Plant the tubers with the domed side downwards and the hollow uppermost.
  • Shoots will start to emerge depending on temperature, we recommend that you start them off in a warm room.
  • As soon as the shoots of the tubers are about 2cm (1in) long pot them up in 15cm (4in) pots. As soon as the roots reach the sides of the pot, they're ready to go into baskets.
  • Alternatively, you can plant the tubers straight into baskets and tubs where they are to flower and grow them on in warm, frost-free conditions.
  • Outside, grow in full sun or partial shaded areas. The sunnier the site, the more vibrant the colours will be. Feed once every two weeks with a high potassium feed while in flower, and deadhead regularly to encourage further flowers.
  • For best results keep plants well watered, and feed fortnightly with a high-potash fertiliser to prolong flowering. Take care not to over-water, as this will cause new Begonia flower buds to drop.
  • Remove faded flowers to encourage more blooms.
Delivery Information

Please allow us 3-5 working days to dispatch your order. Pre-ordered items will be sent as soon as possible after the date quoted and we'll generally ship your entire order with your pre-ordered items. When your order is dispatched, we'll send you another email with details of how to track it.

Most orders are sent on a fully-tracked courier service with Yodel. To avoid perishable items being stuck at depots and deteriorating, no signature is required, and our courier is asked to leave your order in a safe place on your property.

We'll send a tracking link when we dispatch your order, so you know when its due to arrive. Please note, once delivered we cannot be held responsible for loss or theft from your property. If you have any specific delivery instructions, please let us know - there's an option to enter a short message for the courier at the checkout.

Smaller, lighter, single-item orders may be sent through the post with Royal Mail - in which case no tracking is available.

Our experienced nursery team will always send your plants nursery fresh in the perfect condition to thrive when you plant them, so although most plants are very tough and will not be affected by all but the most extreme frosts or heatwaves, we avoid dispatching the most perishable plants if extreme weather is forecast, or over Bank Holiday weekends.

Please note, we cannot guarantee delivery on a certain day or time. Delivery to outlying postcode areas may take 1-2 days longer, dependent on your location.
